“Man’s” Best Friend

by MichelleR on August 20, 2012

Sadly, summer is coming to an end. The days will soon be shorter and the nights longer. With the time and weather change it is common for people to become home bodies and even a little depressed. CAREGivers are a great way for your loved one to have some company so they don’t get so lonely. When CAREGivers cannot be there, dogs can be a great substitute. Dogs are natural companions, often referred to as “man’s best friend.” They are loyal; there are few things that a dog won’t do for its owner; some have even been known to save their owner’s life. Dogs are loving, they love to hug and cuddle- no matter the size; somehow they are all lap dogs in this respect. They will stay at your side as often as you let them. Some may argue that dogs have an innate urge to please humans, and for these reasons dogs can be great therapy. Simply petting a dog can lower your blood pressure, releasing endorphins for both you and the dog. However, it is important to take into consideration certain breeds with regard to temperament, size, exercise needs, and coat, some breeds may be better suited for a particular lifestyle. Choosing a breed that compliments your needs can make all the difference.
Dogs make great companions for humans. They keep the house alive and make you laugh, they give you something that you can’t get from any other animal. True loyalty, love and understanding. You can’t even get that from a lot of other humans. Who wouldn’t want a dog as a companion?
